Payback is a bitch.

When I was a kid I used to tease my mom as she got dressed. I always called it “stuffing the sausage” when she put on pantyhose. Today I bought two girdles because without them I can’t wear a dress. I’m tired of rashes and pain as I walk. As I tried them on and watched myself wiggle trying to get the fat properly placed I had to laugh.

I am so not telling my mother.

    Baby powder!

I bet you have some in the house. It works to stop rashes on you as well as on the baby. Really, give it a try. It absorbs moisture and lets skin rub against skin without abrasion.

I had a similar experience today with my maternity therapeutic support pantyhose. It was complicated by the fact that my fingers are numb from carpal tunnel syndrome.

Body shapers are the secret to a lot of womens’ wardrobes! 🙂

I think you’ll discover things settling in more and more as you bounce back though.

Silicone lube, believe it or not, is also fucking FANTASTIC for chub-rub/rash.

I’ve actually gotten quite fond of thigh-high support hose. They’re pricey, but they’re made out of some substance that I think has been adapted from battleships or something, so they last a very very long time. And they stay up perfectly and stop my legs from chafing, without making a constriction around my waist and abdomen. The black ones actually look rather stylish, like dancer’s tights. You can look at them here: http://www.walgreens.com/store/pickcolor.jsp?id=prod2265373&CATID=305107&skuid=sku2264851&V=G&ec=frgl_586477&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=sku2264851

I’ve been wearing bike shorts under skirts and dresses (when full-length pantyhose isn’t necessarily called for, as with some really dressy outfits) for years. I started doing it primarily to keep my thighs from rubbing together and so I’d be relatively decent when I was on the floor with the preschoolers, but holding the tummy firm isn’t bad either (most shorts, pants & hose ride high up past my waist and on up over part or all of my stomach). The extra-added plus is that I don’t have to deal with full-length hose or runs.

Even “stuffing the sausage” wasn’t said meanly. I’ve never been interested in putting people down so even my teases are gentle in general.
