The current mainstream-media definition of the political spectrum is all screwy. The current position known as “moderate” would have, in the ’60s, been seen as quite conservative. Those of us who are moderate by historical standards — or as compared to the politics of any major democracy but the US — are portrayed in the media as fairly far left. Hence why Dean, whose policies were mostly to my right — the man was relatively lax on gun control, was budget hawk, etc — was regarded as some kind of wild-eyed leftist.
Hmmmm. Whaddayaknow? It says I’m also a Liberal. I’d always considered myself a Moderate.

The Medium is misleading.
